Halloween

I know it is a month away but thought I would say something about this store. It is spirit halloween. They have a web sight it's spirithalloween@loyaltylab.com Any way last year was the first year they had this store. What they do is rent a place for a couple of months, so it is never in the same place. This store is so cool!! You can go to the web site to see if they have a store near you. Any way my children love halloween, I mean who doesn't right! It is fun to dress up as someone or something else for one day. I went to this store the other day with my three children and they have a bigger place this year. They have so much stuff. Well it can get pretty hot and stuffy in there because of no air, but it is fun to look around at all the stuff they have I mean costumes and all the big animatronics/animations they have there.

I remember dressing my children up for their big night out it was always a lot of fun! My oldest son I had made him a few costumes when he was little. The first was when he was two I dressed him up as a smurf. I also made him a ninju turtle costume one year. He has always love to dress up at halloween even now. Every year he dresses up. I remember when he was a freshman in high school he dressed up as Darthmall from starwars he did a remarkable job with the make up. I have a picture of it, but don't know how to put it on here. My daughter when she was little i always dressed her as some kind of princess. My youngest son was a m & m one year when he was little and was so cute! He is going to be joker this year! Oh and that is what I was going to say about this store they have so many costumes, but when I got him the joker outfit it only came with the jacket and mask I had to buy the gloves separate, oh well it is only once a year and they have so much fun dressing up. Oh I have made my husband a clown outfit as well and a wizard costume.

Halloween isn't the only time my family likes to dress up, no there is the renaissance fair that they go to and dress up for that as well. My husband tells me I should go with them some year and dress as Xena the warrior princess, I'm like NO I don't think so!! My husband goes as a viking warrior with all his swords and stuff. The kids dress up as well and they have a great time!

I guess you are never to old to play dress up!

Wedding

My oldest son is getting married next May and I am really happy about it,but a little sad at the same time! My mom won't be there and that is so sad to me, so it is a bitter sweet affair. The whole thing of this is they have less than 8 months to get everything in line, which seems like they may have time,but they really don't because it will be here before they know it. They have the wedding dress so that is a good thing, oh let me tell you about the dress. My future daughter in law asked me to go with her to pick it out! I was so excited and honored that she ask me to go with her! We went in May and we were looking at some dresses in a catalog when this one dress really caught my eye and my future daughter in law liked it as well. The gal that was helping us asked if we found anything we liked so we showed her and luckly they had that dress in house. The one that she saw on line they had on display but you had to special order it, truthfully I didn't really care for it so I was glad they didn't have one in stock! She picked out three dresses to try on and the first dress was the one I had liked in the picture so well. The sales lady helped her on with it and she came out of the dressing room to look at it and have me look at it I was about to cry when I saw her in this dress, I mean she just glowed!! It fit her body just perfect and look so great on her!! She still wanted to try on the other two dresses, but when she did the sales lady and I both said that we liked the first one the best, well she decided we were right! So we put it on lay away and now we have the dress at my house!

In the mean time I keep asking them if they had anything else planned out yet and they keep saying they are working on it! One thing they do have someone making the wedding cake and they have a few odds and ends. They want to make up their own invitations, her aunt is doing the flowers, her mom is making a dish, but yet they still don't know where or who will do the service. I keep telling them they better really think about this because it will be here before they know it!

They also added six more people to their wedding party, they went from having six to having twelve, yikes!!! It is good though because now my other two children are going to be in their big brothers wedding, so that is pretty exciting! Another thing is she doesn't want the maid of honor or the bridesmaids to wear a "bridesmaid" dress she wants them to pick out a nice formal dress, so no one is going to look the same. I am not to sure about this myself, but it isn't my wedding so I won't say anything. After all I don't want them to think I am meddling. The groom and the best man is going to wear a tux and the groomsmen are going just to wear black pants, purple shirt and a vest. ( Their colors are red and purple) They also are having a ring bearer and flower girl.

They wanted to get married outdoors up at the Lake, now they really aren't sure!! This isn't even my wedding and I am getting nervous about the whole thing, in fact it kind of reminds me of when I did get married I almost said the heck with it lets elope, but of course I would never say that to my son, because I want a nice wedding for him, but they really need to get on this thing, seriously!!! I know in the end it will all come together and there will be a wonderful wedding and I will have one more to add to my little family!

As my world turns..

No my life isn't a soap opera, but I was just thinking how fast time goes by and have to stop to wonder why is so? Today is my anniversary 26 years, wow unbelievable! When I was a kid it seem that time took forever. I have to wonder why I wanted time to go so fast in the first place. Adulthood after all isn't all that it is cracked up to be anyway. I have three awesome children that I adore and am amazed at everyday! I have faith in our heavenly father who is with us always and I have the most wonderful husband in the world! Life is good, oh it isn't easy by no means, there are trails and tribulation, but with faith and love I make it through.

My oldest son is 22 will be 23 in December wow it is hard to believe I have a grown up child, ok he isn't a child but he will always be my child!! He has been out on his own for almost three years and sometimes he gets into a rut like we all do after all it isn't easy being an adult! I guess us mothers sometimes have a six sense so to speck and can tell when one of the children is doing something wrong or needs something and might not be able to tell the parents, well I knew when my son came over yesterday that something was up, but I wasn't going to let on that I knew so I waited until he finally said he was having a bit of a problem. He hates to ask me and I have always told him just because you are out on your own doesn't mean you can't come to your dad and I for help, we've told you we are always here for you and the door is always open. So, we went and took care of the problem. I think what I am trying to say it doesn't matter how old my children are they well always be my children and as long as I can I will always be there for them! It was really hard on me when he first moved out! I was depressed for the longest time, but I have got better and he is engaged to a wonderful girl that I just adore and they are getting married next year!

My daughter is 16 and she keeps saying she can't wait until she can be on her own, I am like don't rush your life trust me adulthood isn't all that it's cracked up to be!! We went yesterday to DMV so that she could take her written test to get her permit, but I forget they want the birth certificate and social security number. She really wants to learn to drive!! I am really glad that she has a cell phone now as well because in a mad dash to take care of my son's problem I had forgot she got out of school early so she called me and I am like oh I did forget be there as soon as I can. She really loves having that phone too and I think it is a good thing to have and a great responibilty.

My youngest son is 12 soon to be 13. Now his voice changed this year and I can't believe it! I think it is hard on him being the youngest, because he wants what his older brother and sister have and what not, I say in your own time they had to wait so do you!

The last few years I think have been really hard for me. Watching my children grow up wondering where the time went and my parents dying. It was really hard when my grandmother passed away, because I adored her, but she lived a good life and was 90. My dad died in his sleep, but I had a police officer come to my door at 3:30 in the morning to tell me to call my mom. It was really hard on her to lose my dad. They were married 55 years. That was 3 years ago. This past March my mom passed away, now talk about hard and being in shock, well I still am and it has been almost six months. She went pretty fast. She had pancreatic cancer. Found out in Janurary and she passed away in March. I guess in a close to this blog, I need to live for today and not worry about tomorrow and keep my faith in the Lord for he has a plan for all of us!

Addiction

Lets face it we all have some kind of addiction I know I have several. I love chocolate so much I would put that at the top of the list! Light, medium, Dark, with nuts, carmal, cremes, chocolate covered strawberries, cherries, well you get the point it doesn't matter I am a chocoholic!! Coffee is another than I really am addicted to, I mean don't even talk to me in the morning until I have had at the very least one cup of coffee!! My family and I went on vacation and my daughter saw this t-shirt that said, " Hand me the coffee and back away"!! She said that is you mom!! I love to go to starbucks for a treat, but it has to have chocolate in it! Books I love books!! I can not go to the book store and walk out without a book or two! It doesn't matter how many I have at home that I haven't read yet, I figure they aren't going to go to waste I always have a book that I am reading. There is something about the smell of a new book! Music is another addiction! I have always loved music and am always buying a new cd! I got new rack for Christmas and it is full and now I have them piled up again, I need another rack! Movies is yet another, but I can say that is my whole family! We need a new rack for our dvd's as well! I love to shop, but I wouldn't say I am a shopholic so I don't know if that would be concerted an addiction! Here's where my addiciton gets a little crazy. I love tv and all my favorite shows and am so excited the new season is here!! In fact one of my favorite shows already started so last week I am like at 8PM I am watching Bones so don't be putting in a movie or anything!!! Well my addicition goes one step further in that I have to buy my favorite shows on dvd, yeah!!! My all time favorite show is ER! I have been watching this show since day one and this season is the 15th! It is the last season which makes me so sad!! I have season 1-9 on dvd and am waiting for season 10 to come out! I am so addicted when I do get it I will watch the whole thing in like three maybe four days!! Than I will wait for season 11! I even have my daughter addicted to ER!! It doesn't stop there though, I also have House, Supernatural, NYPD Blue, Bones, Ghost Whisperer, Greys Anatomy, Beauty and the Beast, NCIS and today I just got Medium. Also order Criminal Minds, Numbers, and CIS: Vegas, so this is my most crazed addiction and I just can't help myself!! I love my tv shows! There are other ones that I want to start getting like Crossing Jordan and Third Watch, but I will be waiting for the price to go down on them! Than I just found on line tvshowsondvd.com it is so cool!! I started my oldest son on tv series too, I got him Smallville 1-6 and the 7th season just now came out! I also got him Buffy the vampire slayer and southpark. He doesn't buy the series if there is a show he likes he just watches it on the computer, but what good is that it won't always be there. So I will keep mine and keep watching them year after year and new ones will come along and new show will come along so this should keep my addiction going for years and years!! I know it is a crazy addiction but I just can't help myself! Now my husband just gave me money for our anniversary and yes I will probably buy some other show on dvd! I tell you it is almost like a drug I guess that is why I call this my addicition!

Letting the apron strings out

It is really hard as a mom to let go of your kids and let them do things on their own so to speck. Let me give you a example: My daughter is 16 she went through drivers Education in the summer and she can't wait until she can drive( there goes more gray hair for me) anyway she hasn't gone to take the test yet to get her permit, which is probably a good thing. She came home from school the first day and says mom I really need a cell phone and can I get a house key? Oh and by the way I really need an email address. I am like hold on there that is a lot in one sentence! I have been pondering a cell phone for her for a while now anyway, but I really didn't want to put her on my plan because it would cost more so we decide that we would get her a cell phone that is pay as you go. Can we go get it now she ask! This child is wasting no time!! We went to wal-mart and got her a virgin mobile phone it has roll over minutes so I thought that was good, well I forgot to get the card that you have to get to start up the phone, but they let us use our debit card. She was so excited and couldn't wait to use it! I explain to her that it is not to talk for hours on because it would use up all her minutes. Well I am glad we got her the phone because it really has come in handing for the two weeks that she has had it now! The reason she wanted the house key was so if her friend and her wanted to walk home from school instead of me picking them up than she could get in the house without waiting for me to show up! Well, here's a little of letting the apron strings out, it is a long walk from high school to our house and so of course I am a worrier, but here is where the cell phone comes in! I call her to see how far they have gotten! She tells me where abouts they are and that makes me feel better! Now about the email address! That is another thing I was pondering about, but she said she needed for her drama class. I broke down and let her have an email and had my oldest son set it up for her. It is really hard for me to see my kids grow up wanting to do things on there own and even harder for me to let those strings go! Last night was open house at the high school so I went with my daughter and met all the teachers and we get to the last class which is biology and the teacher is telling us about the class and she gets to the part where every year they go on a field trip to the aquarium in Cailfornia. That's really cool! She is saying how they go behind the scenes and get to touch the animals and that they go out to lunch and whale watch for three hours!! She also says she needs chaperone so I am like cool, but I decide I should ask my daughter if she would want me to before just putting myself down, so I did and she said that would be ok!! When they go on this trip they leave at 3AM and don't get back until 1Am, but it sounds like a lot of fun! I guess this whole growing up thing is as hard on the parents as it is on the kids because they want to be on their own and do stuff, but they have their parents saying no or not right now it is just really hard I think on me more than on my husband! I remember the day my oldest son came to me and said mom Joey and I are looking for an apartment we are moving out! I am like what, can't wait stay for another year save money? He says to me mom every chick has to leave the nest sometime, I am like yeah but does it have to be now? That has been almost 3 years now and I still have a hard time with it, not as bad, but still isn't easy! As you watch your kids grow it makes you wonder Where did the years go? It really is hard being a parent!

First timer

So you will have to for give me if this isn't so good I am a first timer. I am at work talking to my friend who is telling me about her daughter who blogs, now mind you I have heard of blogging from my own son, but I haven't got a clue. Now my friend is cracking me up big time, so she writes down this address. She has got my curiousity up. (I know what curiousity did to the cat, but satisfaction did after all bring him back)! Anyway, so I go and start reading her blog and it is so good and funny. She should be a writer! So anyway I thought I would give this a try. I thought I would talk about gadgets:


So you have to love the gadgets, but sometimes it just drives me crazy! Just when you think you are up on things they come up with something new! For example: Now mind you this is dating myself, but here goes anyway: I remember getting a stereo for my 13th birthday and I thought it was the greatest thing ever! Now I can play albums Wow!! Oh not to mention it was Am/Fm radio. Fm whats that anyway I have been listening to Am radio since I can't remember, but wow you get better stations on Fm! Now there is 8 track and than just tape player and low and behold they come out with CD's. So you buy all these albums, 8tracks and so on NOW you have to replace them with CD's! Now you talk about replacing stuff, you get the VHS and buy all these movies and what do they do come out with DVD's, SO NOW you have to go get the player and start your collection all over again! So that's cool DVD is so much bettter, BUT WAIT, now they come out with HDVD What the heck!!!! Now Blue Ray, You see where I am going with this?? Just when you think you are doing good with your gadgets they come out with something better. Just like Cell Phones oh they have so many choices and so many plans and than you have bluetooth and blackberries I mean what the heck!! Oh and don't even mention TV's I just can't keep up with it! It makes me nuts!! Course my kids think I am crazy anyway, but thats another story!! I guess what I am getting at no matter how gadgets savvy you think you are, there is always something better lurking in the distance.
